Cades Cove

One of my favorite places to visit in the Great Smoky Mountains National Park has to be Cades Cove. In fact, it is one of the top destinations for many people that visit the area.  With its lush landscape, seductive setting, outstanding views and extensive variety of wildlife that is prominent in the area, it is not hard to see why.  The Great Smoky Mountains engulf the valley floor to form a visual masterpiece that will be permanently etched into my mind.

You can explore the cove via the 11 mile loop and see all of the natural treasures as well as the historic structures, farms and trails that depict early pioneer life in the cove.  The loop is open to foot, auto and bicycle traffic almost every day year round.  There are plenty of great activities to entertain the whole family including bike riding, horse riding, camping, fishing and hiking to name a few.  Please visit the information center located in Cades Cove for more detailed information.  Stop by Cades Cove when you are in the area- you will not be disappointed!
