Pigeon Forge

Nestled in the foothills of the Smokies between Gatlinburg and Seviervilleis Pigeon Forge, a nearby resort town. This town is very family oriented with its broad assortment of shows, theme parks, rides, souvenir shops and fair-like atmosphere.  Most of the attractions and shows are located on the “Strip” or Parkway and include everything from magic shows and musicals to go cart rides and mini golf.  There is also a wide variety of restaurants to soothe your taste buds and outlet malls tailored to fit all of your shopping needs. Don’t forget to stop by the Old Mill, one of Pigeon Forge’s oldest attractions.

Before the opening of the Great Smoky Mountain National Park in 1934, Pigeon Forge was nothing more than an isolated mountain town with few roads and very little infrastructure. The tourism boom from the park eventually spilled into Gatlinburg and with most of Gatlinburg’s land resources being controlled by a few local families that were not very keen on sharing it with outside businesses, the nearby town of Pigeon Forge soon became a very attractive target for entrepreneurs.

There are only approximately 6,000 permanent residences currently in Pigeon Forge but the daily traffic can average near 50,000- Dollywood greatly attributes to this number.  There are a number of annual events that take place every year in Pigeon Forge like the Rod Run and other large car shows.  With all of the entertainment and attractions, you will want to frequently visit Pigeon Forge or even become a permanent residence.
