Sevierville

Founded in 1795, Sevierville, TN is the nationally renowned birthplace of legendary country singer and songwriter Dolly Parton. Dolly has strong roots in Sevier Countyand has never forgotten where she came from.  After becoming a famous actress and musician, she opened the Dollywood theme park in 1984 putting the nearby town of Pigeon Forge, TN on the map as a top tourist destination.  She later opened up other fantastic attractions like the Dixie Stampede and Dollywood Splash Country.  Dolly continues to have a strong presence in the community donating her time and money to help make Sevier Countya better place.  She returns to this area every spring to kick off the season’s parade and festivities.

Sevierville is located approximately 10 miles south of the Great Smoky Mountain National Parkand the local economy reaps the benefits from the park’s 10-14 million annual visitors.  The local lodging and retail industry exploded as a result.  There is enough lodging to accommodate literally tens of thousands of people which include upscale resorts, log cabins and a plethora of hotels and motels.  The local outlet malls including the largest among them, the Tanger Five Oaks Outlet, have many national tenants, franchises and top tier brands that attract millions of visitors annually.  There is also an extensive amount of local and national restaurant chains capable of satisfying just about any pallet.  Sevierville continues to grow and expand with its recent addition of a grand new resort Wilderness at the Smokies and fabulous events center.  The local golf course Eagle’s Landing is in the process of expanding from 18 to 36 holes and continues to draw many new players from across the nation each year.

The city is centrally located and is convenient to Gatlinburg, Pigeon Forge, Wears Valley, Cosby, Seymour, Dandridge and Knoxville-this makes it a great choice for a permanent residence.  Sevierville is an extraordinary place to call home!
